Sanderling hovers around Black-bellied Plover

The plover has the remains of an Emerita in its bill, which it has been pecking at for at least 10 minutes. The sanderling is waiting for pieces of flesh to spin off, or for the BBP to drop it entirely. In the meantime, the sanderling is chasing away other sanderling who are hoping to benefit from the plover's errors.
