Spider webs deter me not
This Wrentit, a few miles west of Bolinas on Point Reyes, CA, clearly had some tangles with spider webs in the chaparral habitat it calls home. Their movements have an almost Velociraptor -like intensity. Insects must regard them with terror. A side note: Wrentits have no close relatives in North America. According to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, "their closest relatives are in Africa, Spain, India and China."
